For high-achieving women ready to stop overthinking, overgiving, and managing the same patterns - and actually change them.

Life doesn’t feel the way you thought it would.

From the outside, things look good. You are capable, thoughtful, and doing a lot right. But inside, it feels different.

You overthink what you said and second-guess your decisions. You replay conversations and wonder if you got it wrong. You say yes when you don’t want to and stay quiet when something doesn’t feel right. Later, you feel frustrated with yourself.

There is a part of you that knows what you need. You can feel it. But in the moment, when it actually matters, you lose access to it.

Your relationships start to feel strained. You find yourself overgiving, holding things in, or trying to manage how everything lands. Communication feels harder than it should.

You are tired of the same patterns. The same internal loops and the same conversations that do not go the way you hoped. You do not want to keep managing it. You want to trust yourself, say what you actually mean, and feel clear in your choices.

You may also be someone who is super high-functioning, successful, and driven. The gap between how capable you are in your life and how stuck you feel inside yourself and in your relationships has become hard to ignore.

At some point, something needs to shift.

You can feel better in a real, lasting way by getting to the root of what is actually driving these patterns.

I work with women across California who are ready to stop overthinking, overgiving, and second-guessing themselves, and start trusting their inner sense of what is right for them.

Together, we look at what is happening inside you in real time. You begin to understand the patterns that keep you stuck, including the parts of you that default to pleasing, holding back, or questioning yourself.

As we work, you start to access a clearer, more grounded sense of yourself so you can speak up, set boundaries, and make decisions without the same internal struggle.

My approach integrates mindfulness-based CBT, somatic therapy, and IFS parts work to help you shift what is happening at the root.

This is not about talking in circles, venting, or managing symptoms. It is about creating real change so you can feel more steady, more clear, and more like yourself in your relationships and your life.

Sessions are offered online throughout California, as well as walk-and-talk sessions in Sebastopol and Santa Rosa, making it easy to get consistent support in a way that fits your life.

Paths to Healing

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Meet Ali

I’m a licensed therapist with 20 years of experience and the author of two books.

Much of what you are struggling with right now did not start here. It comes from patterns that formed over time, often in ways that once made sense but no longer serve you.

In our work together, we begin to make sense of what is actually happening inside you. I pay close attention to what is happening in the moment, not just what you are describing, but what is shifting underneath it. We slow things down enough to understand these patterns as they are happening, so you are not just talking about change, you are experiencing something different in real time.

I am trained in Internal Family Systems through the IFS Institute, and my work is grounded in somatic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. This allows us to work at the level where these patterns are actually happening, not just talk or vent about them.

My approach is direct, grounded, and practical. I will name what I see and help you see it too. Not to push you, but to help you move out of the same loops that keep you stuck. We will look at what is real, even when it is uncomfortable, and we will do it in a way that feels steady and respectful.

I work best with women who are self-aware, motivated, and ready to change how they show up in their lives and relationships. Women who are tired of overthinking, overgiving, and second-guessing themselves, and are ready to trust themselves, speak up for what they need, and feel more at ease in who they are.

My work has been featured in TIME, The Guardian, Forbes, HuffPost, Today, Verywell Mind, Bustle, DailyOM, Well+Good, Success, The Knot, Parents, Fodor’s, Real Simple,Cosmo, and more.

What Clients Say

“Working with Ali has been pretty life-changing. I used to feel trapped in patterns of people-pleasing but through our work together, I’ve stepped out of that cage, and there’s no going back! I feel unapologetically myself now. I know my needs, I can speak up for them, and I no longer abandon myself to keep the peace. ”

— A.W.

When I first started working with Ali, I felt pretty stuck and a bit scattered. Everything felt hard. A lot of our work was about slowing things down and getting curious about different parts of me. We used IFS to understand why certain patterns kept showing up, especially around my self-doubt. I’m more able to listen to myself instead of shutting down and that’s made things feel more manageable now. I’m really grateful for the IFS tools I can use on my own now.”

- S.P.

“Ali helped me untangle years of overgiving and imbalanced relationships.”

—T.R.

I came to Ali during a career transition that completely threw me off. I thought I was just stressed but really I was questioning a lot of things about my life.

Ali helped me notice the parts of me that were terrified of making a wrong move and the parts that actually wanted something different. I’ve been making decisions now that feel a lot more honest.” - D.G.
