Therapy for Women in Midlife
Therapy for women in perimenopause & menopause who are ready to set boundaries, speak up, and find peace.

One of the unexpected gifts of working with women in midlife for more than twenty years has been witnessing the questions that naturally emerge during this season of life.
Questions they often haven't had the time or space to ask before.
What gives me energy? What consistently leaves me depleted? Which parts of my life still fit? What have I outgrown? What feels meaningful now? How do I want to spend this next chapter of my life?
It's deeply rewarding to watch women stop organizing their lives around everyone else's comfort and begin making more choices that feel more aligned with their spark.
In recent years, we've finally begun talking more openly about perimenopause and menopause, and I'm grateful for the physicians and educators helping women understand what's happening in their bodies.
That conversation matters and it gives context to experiences that have too often been dismissed or misunderstood.
What I find just as meaningful is the opportunity this time in life offers. It's a chance to:
Become more discerning about where your time, energy, and attention go.
Prune away obligations, expectations, and relationships that drain your life energy.
Notice what lights you up and excites you.
Practice honoring your needs, setting boundaries, and speaking your truth.
None of that is easy. Having support and practical tools can make a big difference. It's much easier to recognize old patterns, build new ones, and trust yourself when you’ve got great support.
Empowering women through this chapter of life continues to be one of the greatest privileges of my work. I
I’d be honored to work with you.
I thought therapy would help me process my divorce. It did, but it also helped me understand myself in a way I never had before. I'm having conversations I would have avoided for years, and my relationships feel more honest because of it. - Michelle, 52
Find Your Voice
You've likely known what you needed to say for a long time but maybe you just didn't say it. Maybe it felt less risky to stay quiet. Maybe no one ever showed you how to say your truth.
Speaking up is a skill. We build it here: what to say, how to say it, and the courage it takes to say it.
The Work We'll Do
Internal Family Systems
Every part of you developed for a reason, often to protect you from something that once felt unsafe to feel or say. Some of us learned agreement was safer than honesty.
IFS is built on the idea that you have several parts, not just one. We name what each is protecting you from, and build trust with the steadier part underneath.
Somatic Therapy
Long before you have words for what's true, your body already knows it. You might notice you’ve been wound up or exhausted for a long time.
As a certified somatic therapist, I help you slow down enough to actually feel what's present and move through it safely.
Meet Ali
I'm a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience, mindfulness teacher, and the author of two books.
I trained in IFS at the IFS Institute and also bring 30+ years of yoga practice into the room with me. In my 50s and in menopause myself, I'm doing this work in my own life, too.
I work with women in their forties and fifties who are self-aware, motivated, and done tolerating what they've been putting up with for years, in a friendship, a marriage or partnership, a job, or a version of themselves that doesn’t feel good.
I lead with warmth and directness. Our sessions are very active: we use real tools that move things forward - not just talking about things.
Together, we get clear on what you actually want to say, build the boundaries to protect your vitality, and create a life filled with peace and excitement.
How We’ll Work Together
A 15-minute call to see if this is the right fit, and to talk about what came up for you.
Ongoing IFS and somatic work, online, so the boundary you're ready to set has somewhere real to practice.
Stay connected to the part of you that holds steady, even when stress hits and old roles are trying to take over.
